Aptana works okay, but in order for you to get sftp support, you have to buy their pro version, which makes it not worth using for the majority of people unless you're testing the site locally which isn't even possible in many cases. They claim the "older" sftp plugin is still available, but take it from me that it doesn't work with the latest aptana versions.

I tried to get Aptana working for me -- but failed to get the Site Manager to work the way my dreamweaver does. I develop on Java projects, so want to set up a file-based "put" or "deploy" where I can just save the file or shift+ctrl+s or something and be able to then just have it save the file to a separate directory where the site is being served from. All I can find is a way to sync with this Aptana Cloud thing, which is not useful for me.

Aptana has great ideas, but execution is lacking. There are numerous bugs, instability, and recent builds simply fail to install basic plugins, like SubClipse. While the features are indeed great, and it is a useful tool, I just wish it was more stable and better supported.

See the following for example.
